After we service and prepare each chassis, it goes into our steel fabrication workshop and the sub-frame and horse cage are fitted. Next it moves into our paint shop; the cab, engine, chassis and all steelwork are sprayed with 3 coats of oil resistant paint. Then it is into the main workshop where the Helios coachbuilt bodies are completed. When finished, it goes back into the spray shop and the underside is painted again coating any added parts. We then paint the outside of the horsebox and lastly the whole Underside is sprayed in Waxoyl. This process has arisen from the combination of years of coachbuilding and painting experience. It is just one of the reasons why we have a reputation for quality long lasting horseboxes. With total confidence we include a 2 year warranty on all Helios horsebox bodywork.

Helios horsebox steel fabrication workshop

In the past few years we have expanded our steel fabrication workshop into a new building and added to the team to meet demand. The expansion has given us the extra space needed to prepare chassis, build sub frames and lockers and fit the wiring. The new fabrication workshop has enabled us to improve our quality, speed up our build times and keep our flow of work through the production line even. We inspect the builds at regular intervals and have a member of the team responsible for stage. Our quality control is exceptional, again this can only add to our reputation.

Helios horsebox research and innovation

Through research and innovation we have moved onto the latest composite materials with the benefits of added strength and lightness. Partitions and steelwork are galvanised keeping a quality finish for the life of your horsebox. On the same theme we use sealer glue on every part fitted to the horsebox, the very few rivets and screws we use are stainless steel and each hole we drill is sealed before any fixings are fitted. This attention to detail is why our Helios horseboxes look like new years later. This in turn means residual value of a Helios Horsebox is high and why so few come up for sale.
