Horse areas for new builds and conversions

We part build horseboxes for customers designing into them their ideal spacing between the living area and the horse area. When converting some horseboxes the overhang behind the wheels is far too great, with these conversions we can shorten the length of the body. Usually in these cases we are fitting new rear frames so the cost of shortening is minimal. We can give good advice as to how the horses and load should sit over the rear axle. This is often the part people get wrong on home builds. Please note some horseboxes can be under weight fully loaded and still fail on incorrect axle loading.
Our horsebox horse areas from Ladies horseboxes to larger horseboxes have to be hardwearing. After fitting the partition rails we coat the whole area up to waist height with Coat-X spray-on protective coating. www.coat-x.co.uk We put drain pipes at the bulkhead of the horsebox center partition to drain away any liquid without it touching the chassis underside. These are also sprayed in Coat-X Protective coating. If you have chosen tack lockers in the horse area these are also sprayed in Coat-X protective coating. The upper walls and ceiling of the horse area are white for ease of cleaning with LED lights fitted for low power consumption. The lights are blue LED for travelling at night and can be switched to white LED. Ventilation comes from four half drop windows with bars in the near side wall and vent windows in the tail end. Fans, vents and air conditioning can be fitted in our horseboxes. Again, like our ramps the horse area is maintenance free.
