The design is the same for our Helios horsebox ramps and our ramps for horsebox conversions. We use the latest products including a smooth outer face in aluminium with no rivets or fixings. Our unique Horsebox ramp design is free from cappings making it waterproof for a long reliable lifespan. The horsebox ramp hinges have pins in 16mm bright bar with grease nipples. We have used this hinge system for many years and from experience know that the most important part of the horsebox is the ramp and especially the hinge strength.
Our horsebox ramps are nearly free from maintenance with greasing needed only once a year.
We find with most conversions that the bodies original rear frames made for roller shutter doors are not strong enough for hinging a horsebox ramp. In these cases we recommend a complete new rear frame. It is false economy to miss this important stage and we would never recommend it. Our horsebox ramps have a choice of finishes for the area where the horse walks. These range from our spray-on protective coating called Coat-X (www.coat-x.co.uk) to a quality glued down carpet.
